Marble cow

Inv. Scu 921

The work is considered to be a copy of the bronze cow made by the sculptor Myron around 450 BC for the Acropolis of Athens for the Panathenean festival and brought to Rome during the reign of Vespasian.

The statue was found near the church of Sant’Eusebio on the Esquiline hill.
