Inv. Scu 336
The bust features a young woman; the eyes have iris and pupil incised. The hair is parted in the middle and arranged in wavy locks tied back in a knot at the nape; this is typical of the ladies of the Antonine age and helps identifying the sculpture as the portrait of a member of the imperial family, perhaps one of Lucius Verus’ sisters (Ceionia Fabia or Ceionia Plautia), or of Lucilla, his wife.
The bust dates to the mid Antonine period.
